Impact of Hydrogen Liquefaction on Hydrogen Fuel Quality for Transport Applications (ISO-14687:2019)

Decarbonisation of the energy sector is becoming increasingly more important to reduction in climate change. Renewable an effective means reducing CO2 emissions, but fluctuation demand and production a limiting factor. Liquid hydrogen allows for long-term storage energy. Hydrogen quality safety efficiency end user. Furthermore, gas after liquefaction has not yet been reported. The purity was assessed against specification grade D ISO-14687:2019 by analysing samples taken at different locations throughout production. Sampling carried out directly cylinders, using multiple analytical methods. results indicate that produced from higher than starting gas, with all impurities below threshold values set ISO-14687:2019. amount fraction water measured sample increased repeated sampling liquid tank, suggesting system used affected low temperatures (?253 °C). These data demonstrate first time impact on ISO-14687:2019, showing liquified viable option whilst also improving quality.
